Bicycle classification is based on inductive-loop technology that also utilizes inductive pattern recognition to provide a precise registration. The product can be delivered as a stand-alone traffic counter or as an advanced part of a complete traffic monitoring system.
Great effort is being put into building pedestrian/cycle paths in order to improve road safety. Automatic bicycle counting enables the effects of such investments to be documented.
The figures can also be used to demonstrate how well publicity campaigns and measures designed to increase the use of cycle paths are working. This is important, not least at a time
when we wish to reduce private car use and encourage more people to cycle.
If you need to count bicycles your best choice is the Datarec 7 Signature. By adopting new technology and new pattern-recognition methods we have upgraded Datarec 7 to register bicycles
by means of inductive loops.
